BACTERIA RECOVERY

A) NEUTRALIZATION AND RECOVERY

• • Apply neutralizer
    
    • Place 10 ml of neutralizer on each petri dish
  • Shake vigorously to recover bacteria
    
    • Vortex each dish five times with five second duration each
  • Solution recovery and serial dilutions
    
    • Place the recovered solution from each sample on a separate tube
    • Perform serial dilutions on each recovered solution

B) PLATING

• • Plate recovered bacteria
    
    • Plate the pure recovered bacteria and respective dilutions using either the pour plate or streak technique
  • Incubate
    
    • Turn plates upside down
    • Place on the incubator for 24 hs
